The Ca’ Scaì Agrifugium:
a paradise within a paradise

Ca’ Scaì Agrifugium is located in the Parco Alto Garda Bresciano, in the nature park on the western shore of Lake Garda. Nature therefore plays the undisputed leading role here on holiday. After all, Lake Garda is not only the largest lake in Italy, but is also considered one of the most beautiful. We would say - not entirely impartially - that it is the most beautiful.
This also has to do with the fact that, perhaps more than any other lake, it offers countless possibilities. Mountain fans can enjoy hiking, climbing and biking, while water sports enthusiasts can go sailing, surfing, stand-up paddling or swimming.
And there is also plenty of culture on offer. In Salò, for example, you can stroll along the promenade or visit the ‘Vittoriale degli Italiani’, the extravagant villa of the equally extravagant Italian poet and bon vivant Gabriele d'Annunzio. The majestic ‘Pra de la Fam’ limonaia is also worth a detour. With eight spectacular terraces carved into the rock, it is one of the most impressive and still fully functional citrus gardens on Lake Garda - and a stone witness to centuries of lemon cultivation.

Holidays on the mountain or by the water: why choose?

We're happy to admit it: Ca’ Scaì Agrifugium is a paradise for the lazy. Simply doing nothing for an entire holiday - you can probably do that better here in the peace and seclusion of the olive grove high above Lake Garda than anywhere else.
Not least because the high plateau of the Parco Alto Garda is particularly attractive for those seeking peace and quiet. The hustle and bustle of the lakeshore is far away here. In addition, Tignale has one of the most pleasant climates in the area. This is thanks to low rainfall and consistently mild, Mediterranean temperatures.
Those who like to be more active despite the ideal conditions for lazing around can explore the slopes above Lake Garda on foot, by e-bike (which can also be hired in the village), mountain bike or racing bike. And because you can not only look out over Lake Garda from Ca’ Scaì, but can also easily reach it, sailors, surfers, kiters, stand-up paddlers and swimmers also feel at home here.

Spoilt for choice

At Ca’ Scaì Agrifugium, you don't have to choose
between mountains and water, you have both.
Nor do you have to choose between lazing around
and being active. You can do both. So you are spoilt for choice after all...

Hiking

In the north, Lake Garda resembles a fjord: cut deep into the mountains, with steep, often rocky slopes that plunge into the lake. So it's no wonder that the western shore of Lake Garda is a paradise for hikers. There are tours of all levels of difficulty in the Alto Garda Bresciano Nature Park, but they all have one thing in common: nowhere else are you closer to nature. And nowhere else do you have a more beautiful view of Lake Garda.
Because Ca’ Scaì Agrifugium is located in the middle of the nature park, some interesting hiking trails start right on the doorstep.

Fun in the water

Our tips

As the largest lake in Italy, Lake Garda offers water sports enthusiasts a myriad of opportunities to enjoy themselves. From Ca’ Scaì, you can reach Pra de la Fam in around an hour via a beautiful old path through picturesque olive groves, which not only boasts an idyllic natural beach, but is also a sailing and surfing hotspot.
The north-west shore of Lake Garda on the ‘Lemon Riviera’ is considered one of the best surfing spots in Europe. The lake owes this not only to its natural beauty, but also to an equally natural fan that ensures constant winds. At night and in the early hours of the morning, for example, the Pelèr, a thermal northerly wind, blows with a force of 8 to 12 knots. In the late morning and into the afternoon, it is replaced by the Ora, a thermal southerly wind that reaches a constant 12 to 15 knots. Ideal for anyone who wants to go out on the water on a sailing boat or board.
The less experienced can try out a whole range of water sports off Pra de la Fam: windsurfing and kitesurfing, flyboarding and hoverboarding, stand-up paddling, kayaking and sailing. And if you ‘only’ want to swim - in front of a cliff face that drops hundreds of metres! - use the small pebble beach of Pra de la Fam, which is usually only populated by a few people and can be reached from Tignale by car or with the free shuttle bus for Tignale Card holders. The same applies to the nearby free beaches of Campione and Gargnano. Since 2024, the Lake Garda ferries have also been calling at Porto di Tignale, meaning that the entire lake is open to explorers from here.
