Ca’ Scaì Agrifugium does not
have “Agri” in its name for nothing.

The Ca’ Scaì Agrifugium is definitely a refuge, a unique retreat, but the “Agri” is not in the name for nothing. After all, agriculture was, is and will remain an important part of Ca’ Scaì. It doesn't matter that Claudia and Thomas are career changers. As a customer advisor for a large confectionery manufacturer (Claudia) and a project manager in the construction industry (Thomas), they first had to learn the ropes of olive growing. Today they are professionals - and you can taste it.

The essence of Lake Garda: olive oil from Ca’ Scaì

At the origin of the Ca’ Scaì Agrifugium stood an olive grove 250 metres above Lake Garda. Unfortunately a neglected one. Claudia and Thomas have worked hard to restore the grove and now grow their own Casaliva, Leccino and Gargnà olives, which benefit from the long and unhindered sunshine. In addition, a constant breeze ensures ideal ventilation of the treetops. A lot of traditional manual labour is required to harvest the best olives, which are processed into fresh, fruity, certified organic extra virgin olive oil in a local cooperative that has already won several awards. With its strong fruity fragrance and a good aromatic balance between fruity, bitter and spicy, Ca’ Scaì Agrifugium olive oil is an excellent accompaniment to grilled fish and vegetables, fine salads, classic pasta or any other delicately flavoured dish. It is available from the farm in 0.5-litre bottles and 2-litre tins.

Dried, they form the basis of an infusion that not only tastes good, but has been valued throughout the Mediterranean as a remedy since ancient times: to strengthen the immune system, for high blood pressure, insomnia or nervousness. The tranquillity of Ca’ Scaì can also be enjoyed at home.

In addition to the olive trees, Ca’ Scaì is also an oasis of diversity. Claudia and Thomas are on their way to producing their own honey and vegetables in the Ca’ Scaì garden, as well as harvesting prickly pears, persimmons and pomegranates, lemons, oranges, grapefruits and figs. Anyone who wants to give them a hand and get a taste of Mediterranean agriculture is spoilt for choice.
